Dr. Michael Möller, Deputy director of Science Division of Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, was invited by GCCC and Guangxi Institute of Botany, launched academic exchange activities from 16th to 21th July.

At the afternoon 20th July, Dr. Michael Möller made a presentation entitled “On Some Factors Affecting Diversity in the Hengduan Mountains [exemplified by Corallodiscus lanuginosus (Gesneriaceae)]”. In his talking, Dr. Michael Möller take Corallodiscus lanuginosus (Gesneriaceae) as example, introduced those scientific issues of biodiversity, morphological diversity and biogeography of Hengduan Mountains plants.

Dr. Michael Möller visited the conservation greenhouse, propagation nursery and low temperature cultivation house, the display areas by busing simulated microhabitats, accompanied by Prof. Wei Yi-Gang, who is the deputy director of Guilin Botanic Garden, Dr. Wen Fang, who is the principal of GCCC. Dr. Michael Möller also launched some field works, and guided staff and students of Guilin Botanic Garden and GCCC in pollination biology, IUCN assessment method, and so onFigs.1——3.
