The congresses of members ofGuangxi Botany Academy& Symposium was held in Guilin at Dec. 23, 2017. Dr. Wen Fang from GCCC made a presentation entitled “The biodiversity of Gesneriaceae in China & the natural hybridization in this family” in this symposium.After the meeting, the members of Guangxi Botany Academy visited Guilin Botanical Garden.

The members of Guangxi Botany Academy firstly visited the Gesneriad Conservation Center of China (GCCC) in this trip. Dr. Wen Fang from Guilin Botanical Garden and GCCC carefully introduced the history, aims and responsibility. He also introduced the detailed directions and contents of the GCCC (center in Guilin and branches in Guiyang (Guizhou), Shenzhen (Guangdong) and Eastern China (Hefei)).

When the members of Guangxi Botany Academy visited the specialized gardens of Gesneriaceae in GCCC, namely Gesneriad wall-garden and rock-garden, they all appreciated those special cultivated methods for Gesneriads cultivation and display. They said they want to visit GCCC in the bloomy spring days of the next year for enjoying those wonderful and beautiful flowers of Gesneriads.
