Dr. Wen Fang and a doctoral candidate, Hong Xin, investigated limestone and non-limestone areas, including five cities (Shaoguan, Qingyuan, Lianzhou, Lechang and Yingde) and seven counties (Liannan, Liushan, Ruyuan, Renhua, Shixing, Wenyuan, Yangshan).
What's so surprising is that some unknown species were actually discovered on this trip. Even though some people thought that there's a lack of Gesneriaceae biodiversity in Guangdong.

No. 1 Chirita orthandra W.T.Wang ＝ (Primulina orthandra (W.T. Wang) Mich. Möller & A. Weber) in Liannan County, Guangdong

This species was not discovered for many years after the type specimen was collected.

No. 2 An unknown species of Primulina with thick silvery pubescence and big purple flowers in Liannan County, Guangdong
We will name it based on its special leaf blades with thick silvery pubescence.

No. 3 Primulina moi, in pre. in Wengyuan County, Guangdong.
This species is very rare and endangered.

No. 4 Chirita juliae Hance ＝ (Primulina juliae (Hance) Mich. Möller & A. Weber) in Shaoguan City, Guangdong.

No. 5 An unknown species of Primulina in Lechang, Guangdong.
Since this new species is so small we will try to introduce it into potted plant flower marlet as a mini.

No. 6 An unknown species, a new one of Primulina in Lechang, Guangdong. We temporarily named it as Primulina robusta based on its big, thick rhzomes, petioles and leaf blades.

No. 7 An unidentified species may be a new species of Hemiboea, in Liannan, Guangdong. They grow on the wet cliffs at the entrance to a limestone cave. When we visited this cave, all mature plants were flowering with bright pink flowers!
