2017-05-10 GCCC News

After Mr. Wu Jui-Jung, who is an enthusiastic fan in Taiwan, China, heard of those endeavors for Chinese species of Gesneriaceae, he considered that Gesneriaceae plants conservation can not only be limited to Chinese species. To introduce some beautiful ornamental varieties and to develop them in the mainland of China, will drastically reduce the excessive request and destruction on those natural species. Thus, Mr. Wu contributed some dormant rhizomes of Gesneriaceae plants, including 20 species and ornamental garden varieties of Achimenes Pers. and 15 species and ornamental garden varieties of Smithiantha Kuntze. The former sum subtotaled was New Taiwanese dollars about 1930, and the latter sum subtotaled was New Taiwanese dollars 4150. The total was 6080 New Taiwanese dollars. Sincere appreciation is extended to Mr. Wu!
