Chen, W. H., Möller, M., Zhang, M. D. & Shui, Y. M. 2012: Paraboea hekouensis and P. manhaoensis, two new species of Gesneriaceae from China. — Ann. Bot. Fennici 49: 179–187
Abstract
Two new species of Gesneriaceae, Paraboea hekouensis Y.M. Shui & W.H. Chen and P. manhaoensis Y.M. Shui & W.H. Chen, are described and illustrated. The former species is similar to P. nutans in possessing a basal leaf rosette, centrally positioned styles and slightly twisted fruits, but differs from it by having a dense golden-brown and long pubescence on the abaxial surface of the leaves, smaller white flowers and two basal staminodes. The latter is similar to P. crassifolia in possessing basal obovate leaves, centrally positioned styles, and a thick matted indumentum on the lower surface of the leaves, but differs by its smaller white flowers, shorter corolla tubes and only slightly twisted fruits. The leaf surface characters and various types of indumentum of the above four species are also observed in detail and discussed. An identification key to the Chinese and Vietnamese species with a rosulate habit in Paraboea is provided.

Bo Pan, Wang-Hui Wu and Wei-Bin Xu. 2012:Hemiboea pseudomagnibracteata (Gesneriaceae), a New Species from Guangxi, China—Taiwania 57(2): 188-192, 2012
Abstract
A new species of Gesneriaceae, Hemiboea pseudomagnibracteata B. Pan & W. H. Wu from limestone areas in Guangxi, China, is described and illustrated. The new species is close to Hemiboea magnibracteata Y. G. Wei & H. Q. Wen, but differs in its leaf blade oblong-elliptic to obovate, apex acuminate; calyx 5-parted to the base, lobes equal, linear-lanceolate, 8-12 × 2-2.5 mm; corolla white, outside glabrous, with densely brown spots, inside white with densely brown spots.

AbstractA new species of Gesneriaceae from Southwest Guangxi, China is described here as Primulina sinovietnamica. This previously unknown species is morphologically similar to P. pungentisepala and P. ningmingensis, but can be distinguished from the latter two taxa by several non-overlapping morphological characters. This hypothesis is consistent with the molecular phylogenetic tree based on sequences of the chloroplast matK gene, confirming evolutionary affinity of the new species to the two morphologically similar taxa. The three sampled individuals from the two presently known populations of the new species cluster together in the phylogenetic analysis, separated from the other two closest taxa by two common base substitutions, confirming the recognition of this new species.
